 "Lucky"

Our mission:  To create, polish and promote great writing.

Who We Are

Who We Are

TWO HEADS ARE

BETTER THAN ONE

e know what it's like to work hard creating a project and then surrender it to someone "to fix."

As newspaper editors we learned the value of collaboration. We're committed to working with you.

We understand the creative process involves more than applying a set of stuffy rules. We want to let your unique voice ring true.

So, we'll help you clear the clutter, make smart style and grammar choices, and offer advice that helps you become a better writer and storyteller.

Either of us could give your work a thorough polishing, but together we're the most dynamic editing team you'll find. (And we do it for the price of one.) We're interested in helping great writing soar.

To that end, we offer quite a bit more than outstanding copy editing and proofreading. As masters of telling stories, we'll help you with pace, relevance, continuity and organization.

We're also veterans at turning words and concepts into scintilating visuals. We are creative publication and digital designers who can meet all your marketing, branding, or resume needs.

SUSANNE

VAN CLEAVE

  • LinkedIn Metallic

After growing up and going to college in California, I spent more than 22 years (mostly on the East Coast) making seven newspapers better as a copy editor, news editor and writing coach. I sweat the small stuff, looking for the right word or phrase. One of my skills is research, whether fixing a mixed metaphor or an obscure reference.

I grew up in Western Pennsylvania, but I spent more than 23 years as a leader in 11 newsrooms across the country. I always asked my staff to tell stories well. I'm a stickler for grammar and precise writing, but I strive to maintain each writer's voice. Great design also is important, integral to all types of communication.

Our other PARTNERSHIP

Fifteen years after meeting in a newsroom in Connecticut, Susanne and Mark formed a personal partnership in 2011.
